What type of acne/pimple medication should I buy tommorow?  

I don't think anything you buy over the counter is going to help you much. You may have a hormone imbalance that is causing this or there may be a strep infection within your oil/sweat glands. You may need to see the doctor. One of my friends had to take antibiotic to clear it up. The doc also said to wear a mask when cleaning dirty jobs like the toilet and things. My friend cleans houses for people and she got broken out really bad due to being in an environment where she has to clean people's toilets.

I don't know the rationale behind all that, but she is much better and her skin is clear now.

A lot of acne can be caused by hormone imbalances or infections, but more commonly it just happens because it happens. Hormones might be involved, but not usually to the extent that you need to see a doctor. I went to a doctor about my acne, and the antibiotics and the topical cream he gave me actually made it WORSE. So far, nothing has been effective in completely clearing my acne. But one thing has helped- I use St. Ives brand apricot scrub. It exfoliates the skin and removes the dead skin cells and dirt that can clog up your pores. After I use the scrub, I use an oil-free facial moisturizer- having dry skin can actually make the problem worse, because your face will over-produce oil to combat the dryness. So, moisturizer is actually a GOOD thing.
Here's a kind of odd tip that works for those occasional HUGE zits that make the rest of the ones you have seem miniscule...apply some minty toothpaste to the pimple before you go to bed and keep it there overnight. It won't make the zit go away entirely, but it'll make it smaller. The mint pulls the oils out and drys it up. Weird, but it works.

I would recommend going to your doctor instead of just putting up with your skin. It can really effect your self-confidence. I'm in the UK so all healthcares free- guess that might make a difference but anything from your doctor is guaranteed to work- unlike a lot of these gimmicky products. My skin isn't too bad and I was prescribed an unlimited supply of Zineryt lotion, I apply it every night and now my skin is totally clear. If I don't use it my skin breaks out. If your looking for a skincare brand i'd recommend Clean & Clear or something else which is a very simple formula.
