| | Yes, I do, I used to paint a great deal some years ago and I often made the background in abstract painting. Then I could paint some motive there if I wished. Acryl colour is water soluble, so it is easy to play with it and most times the water does part of the work. I guess abstract painting is often used to express the artist´s feelings. | | | | | | | margieanneart (16724)

| | yes i like all types of painting. but i prefer realistic paintings. in abstract paintings sometime it is posible that you do not have the proper idea prior to start, and as you start and go ahead with the work you can change the painting to the way its looking good, but in realistic paintings you must have to decide before start what to make . even a little wrinkle on the face needs to be painted very carefully. so i think the painters like Leonardo da Vinci and Michale Angelo were the best. | | | | | | | | | | Wholesale Artist Canvas. | | Art certainly must be a passion, and how one expresses is extremely personal. I'm working on an abstract piece at the moment. It's a "City Scape" and the primary reason for doing it in an abstract style is to feel, and share that Architecture can have a "life" of sorts and "evolves" or DE-evolves. Certainly I enjoy, and express in very "real" terms too, but Abstract allows me to let the painting create itself as I merely hold the brush, follow the Muse, and in a very FREE sense, make manifest what I feel more than just what I see. I do take a point against a piece that might be three blocks of three primary colors, and put a name tag on it as well as a price tag, but I cannot truly Judge anothers form of or reason for, expressing. To enjoy and involve onesself in ART, is the basis for understanding IT and perhaps get a clue about what the Artist felt, or means. With no offense, I can't totally agree with "unique." I suspect it has to do with a mindset of course, and/or in the worst case, an expression by an "artist" who may not be able to, or choose to paint a Pear in a bowl and create it photo realistically. That said... The beauty in ART is ones own interpretation, and representation of LIFE, and how they are affected by it. Beyond all that, Abstract also has the capability of paying big bucks. One example I offer is watching Jackson Pollack on his garage rooftop throwing paint down onto a canvas on his drive, then often having a "team" walk, roll, bicycle over it. If you are; and as an Artist, you truly shouldn't be creating for anyone but yourself, initially, and the icing on the cake may be that others not only GET IT, but enjoy it in how they relate to it.
