Overall the movies is great. It gets a little to extreme towards the end, but OK movie:-)

i think the movie is jus too god.. a very different from regular horror nd teen movies.. ya definately worth watching..

I thought it was SPECTACULAR.
I was doubtful when I first went to see it. I didn't think it looked interesting. I really LOVED it. First off, I'm biased because I absolutely LOVE hugh jackman and christian bale. That aside, I thought it was really great. It was gripping, intense, and if you have ANY interest in magic, you'll really really enjoy it.
As soon as the credits began, I wanted to watch it all over. Loved it. Watch it!

The plot to THE PRESTIGE is a constantly twisting one involving two rival magicians Robert and Alfred; as played by Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. Robert blames Alfred for a tragic accident and becomes obsessed with discovering the secret behind Alfred’s latest trick. Directed by Christopher Nolan and also starring Michael Cane, Scarlette Johansson, and David Bowie THE PRESTIGE seems to be a crowd pleaser.

The film is set with an appealing mood and directing style, which is accented superbly with the acting performances. However, from the beginning of the film your brain is playing “catch up” and trying to determine what exactly is going on. The transitions of time within the film can become confusing, and thus the promotional claim “You’ll want to watch it over and over again!” is given some merit, but that is not a good thing. Actually, once you get to the end and all time is playing out as the on-screen present you are given the pieces to the puzzle in full and satisfaction does not really call for a second viewing.

Hugh Jackman’s character seems to be the focus for our support as a protagonist, however it is Christian Bale’s character and acting that really draws you in.

I was one of those people who walked into THE SIXTH SENSE and shortly after the opening scenes knew what the “shock” ending was. Likewise with THE PRESTIGE I figured everything out a bit ahead of schedule and by the time the story wove its way to the ending I was getting a bit restless. The ending is exactly how I wanted things to go, however if you are the sort who doesn’t get fooled easily you may be in for disappointment.

It is natural to compare THE PRESTIGE with a film that was released just before it: THE ILLUSIONIST. Their subject matters are different, but at the core they both deal with magicians in the past. As for choosing which one is better I would say it is a toss-up for most folks. The edge that THE ILLUSIONIST has is that THE PRESTIGE becomes a bit tedious in pacing with the twists, especially if you already figured them out.

Overall, THE PRESTIGE is a bit too long and if you are a bit too clever it isn’t going to surprise you. However, I think the film is deserving of the fans it has already claimed and it is up to each individual viewer to check it out and decide for themselves whether or not they enjoy it. Personally, I would only give it a mid-range score on some sort of numerical rating scale.

"The Prestige" twists and turns until, literally, the very last second of the film. Just when you think you've figured out how it might conclude, like a slight-of-hand magic trick, it swerves the audience over and over -- and once more for good measure!

While the length of the movie probably makes it 'not for everyone', I never felt like it plodded along at any point. The pacing is essential so you can feel the depth and intensity of their rivalry as well as their obsession to top (and ruin) each other. Plus, the ending is SO worth the time you invest in watching this film.

What this isn't is an action movie with big effects to wow you. It doesn't need to do that. This isn't Batman vs. Wolverine. This is, however, a cerebral movie and an engaging one at that.

The cast here is brilliant. Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman & Michael Kane all give top-notch performances.

If you are deciding what movie to see this weekend, you really can't go wrong with either "The Prestige" or "The Departed."

i have just watched this movie last night. I have wanted to see it at the movies but didnt get to. So i rented it last night
oh my god it was a great movie. I would suggest this movie over the illusiontist any day.

Excellent movie. Well written as well as the acting in it. Everything comes together at the end, although it does make you think. Overall I'd reccomend it over The Illusionist any day, though The Illusionist is a great movie as well.

I went to the cinema to see it with a friend and we both enjoyed it.Its a fresh story line and clever and it keeps you wondering whats really going on til the end.I'd give it a 8\10.

I think it is definitely worth watching it. I had my doubts at first, but when I watched it I was impressed with the movie. Just one tip that I will give you is make sure you pay attention throughout the whole movie. If you don't you won't understand it. Overall I think it is a great movie.
