A few months ago, I listed a 16-inch, mint in the box, figure of Hitler on Ebay. It is a part of a historical doll collection, there was a lot of interest within the first 5 hours that it was posted. I started with an opening bid of 0 dollars and the bidding quickly went to 55.00. Well, Ebay pulled my listing. They stated that it was "offensive" and "hateful". Now, this really angered me because, at the time that I listed the doll, there were over 2000 items listed under "Hitler". I looked futher for "offensive" listings and found hundreds of listings for the KKK, items with the word n*gg*r, homosexuality, etc. Anything that I could think of that might be considered offensive by someone. Ebay wouldn't even hear my case. Do you think this was fair?

I don't think they should have done that. They caused you to loose the sale of the figure. I checked and found a lead figure of Hitler on Ebay. Here is the link in case you decide to persue this further. http://cgi.ebay.com/Lead-Hadolf-Hitler-Soldier_W0QQitemZ190086713596QQihZ009QQcategoryZ2634QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks for your response, Shaun. I was embarassed by ebay's decision and worried that I might have offended someone. Not my intention at all. I would have like to hear from someone who was offended by the doll but the responses I've received here and from other ebay sellers have all been understanding. Anyway, I haven't even considered listing the figure anywhere else. Oddly enough, I only listed it with ebay because a buyer posted a search request for one! I have a couple of other "world leaders" in my collection, like Kennedy, Reagan, Patton. Maybe I'll just go on collecting. By the way, I've been on a buyer's "strike" against ebay. I used to order something several times a month. Now, I know ebay doesn't notice or care what I am doing but it is the principal of the matter! (I do miss some of my favorite sellers' products and prices, though. drat!)
