FMA: What alchemic power would you want to have?  

Edward's alchemic power is really good because unlike the other alchemist that uses circles or so called transformation circles.

Its really troublesome if you're in a battle and you have to create these circles. You might find yourself dead while creating these circles in a battle, especially if you're fighting a homonculi.

Its really cool for Edward that he can use his alchemic power just by putting his hands together and using his mind create a weapon or something he wants to. Thats really effective and efficient.

That's the power you get when you perform a human transmutation. You get to see the other side of the "gate" and so you see the real alchemy, and gain experience that helps you perform transmutations without the circle. That's why he and his teacher can use alchemy that way

Uhmmm.... Now I remember.

Al and Edward's teacher tried to revive his son and unfortunately ended up creating a humunculi afterwards.

Edward and his teacher both experienced to see the gate and learn lots of things there. As they were in the gate, it was feeding their minds with lots of information and that gave them the ability not to create transmutation circles. They can activate or use alchemy by just putting their hands together and just think of something they want to do.

Yes, like that famous saying that seems to be very true: If it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger. Now apply that to everything in life.

Its the power that can restore or bring back dead people, right? Its forbidden because its against the law and most of all against the law of God.

As we have seen on the series, the Philosopher's stone were used to bring back dead people or create life, like these homunculis. There were this doctor that used the philosopher's stone inside Al's armour suit in attempt to restore his precious Nina.

The Philosopher's stone is made up of human flesh, by sacrificing lives, lots of people's body like the one we saw on the series. This series is really cool.

Yes, that's our human nature. We always want something that's beyond our reach

Well, I agree. Most of us wants something beyond our capabilities. You would actually do the same as the Elric brothers if you know something or if there's a possibility that you can revive the dead.

In that series, reviving dead people is a possibility and thats the reason why these two went in search for the Philosopher's stone. They managed to find it but in a very difficult way plus you need lots of sacrifice. The sacrifice is very costly, you need to sacrifice lives just to create a stone. Not so big Philosopher's stone was created when Scar managed to perform the transmutation circles. Lots of soldiers were sacrifice and the armour of Al was not even full.

Well, I guess you chose this alchemy because you want to challenge Roy Mustang in a fight, right?

Roy Mustang's alchemic power is to create flame, thats why he was called Flame Alchemist. With just a snap of his finger he can create flame. Do you remember Roy's battle with the Edward, his flame is really powerful. It can destroy Edward's creation of Metal, like the Canon.

If you want to alchemy of air or water, there's is a possiblity that you can beat Roy Mustang's flame because you are able to stop it or even completely stop him from using it. Thats really a good idea! You should also have a strategy for that because Roy is a good strategist, he might find something to overcome that.

Thats really kind of you. You also want to help others by using alchemy to heal people, thats really good and kindhearted.

Like Doctor Marco, he used fake Philosopher's stone to heal diseases or sickness, the stone was effective inspite of being fake. He managed to study the stone and used it very well. It looks efficient and effective when he's using it, maybe because he dig deep about the theory of the Philosopher's stone. Research is really a good tool to effectively use you resources, its just sad that they captured Doctor Marco.

Your idea is indeed good and will benefit lots of people.

I see you want the power to grow plants or maybe even trees.

I like the idea of ultimate farming, which enables a person to grow plant of trees. Do you remember the fake Elric brothers? They have this alchemic power. Do you remember how they stopped the possible poisoning, how great disaster it would cause if the water used to create Philosopher's stone was leaked? They stopped it by using their alchemy to grow trees to drain these red water.

You like free food thats why you want this alchemic power. This is kind of nice thing to do, lots of people wont be troubled on what will they eat, you can feed lots of people. Hunger wont be a problem because plants and trees are easy to grow. You're idea is also cool!

Thats a scary power, it would be good if someone with a good heart will have that power but if someone evil learn to do or have that power, it would be a disaster!

I would still rather want an alchemic power that can help other people and make their work easier.

Indeed, Ed's power is really good.

Imagine you can create a gun, sword or even a cannon! Isnt that nice? Without much effort you can do lots of things.

Its really freaky to know that someone that has a power that can make a human being. But as of today, in reality, some scientist are now able to clone a lamb or a goat. I think it wont to be long that they will be able to create a clone for human beings. Isnt this scary, just like the movie 6th Day where Arnold was the lead actor?

With alchemy you could bring back the dead. With science you can duplicate the living . This major difference consists on the very different opinions regarding one thing: the soul. In alchemy they believe that after the body dies, the soul remains for a period of time in our world. In science, they do not believe in souls and they think that they can rebuild the mind and body (not now but in the future :) ).

Now, let's take Al's and Ed's case for example. If they use alchemy they can regain their mother back for a seemingly undefined time. If they use cloning (science), they would bring her back with all her memories, features and looks but also with her disease. So they know tht time will be repeated nd she will once again die. I think I understand why the government doesn't allow research on cloning even if it's used on people who passed away. One of the reasons that keeps cloning banned is what I mentioned earlier

Yeah, I agree.

Its immoral and its a big sin to God. Its like playing god while we are human beings. Its banned because a killer can go back to life to kill again and again and again. A robber, can rob as long as he wants to.

How many innocent people would die if they would clone a suicide bomber? How many airplanes, buses and buildings would be destroyed if this happens because of this suicide bomber. Its a disaster!

The list could go on and on.

Edward will place some raw materials beside Al's armoured body and he will just put his hands together then touches Al, then Al's armoured body is repaired in an instant... Just like that.

Edward can even repair other stuff that concerns metal, he fixed other things in the anime series Full Metal Achemist. Like when he and Al was investigating a case, Ed fixed several things in a certain restaurant but when they found out that he's an alchemist they threw him out.

That's a defensive alchemic power. Thats right, it is Greed's alchemic power.

Its a good alchemic power if you are good at hand to hand combat. This should be paired with great fighting skills, it was hard for Edward to beat Greed the first time they fought each other. Edward broke his arm while he was fighting Greed. The next time they fought on the old lady's house, Edward managed to find a way to defeat by changing the chemical structure of Greed's body. Thats a cool technique!

In that case, avoid fighting someone like Edward if you want that Alchemy.

Well, the only reason Ed managed to beat Greed the second time was because Dante took away the red stones from Greed's body, thus weakening him in the process. Ed would still have a hard time beating Greed if it was under normal circumstances.

Well, thats a good point.

I think he's gotten weak but still he can fight. Ed managed to learn on how to beat greed by fighting with her resurrected. He found out that the composition of a humunculi and a human being is almost the same. Humunculi's body is more maleable compared to humans, he said that when he was fighting with Greed at Dante's house.

In my perspective, he can still beat Greed eventhough he didnt lost the stones inside his body. This is just my opinion.

True, Ed could beat Greed, if he was also a Homunculus. Or a Cyborg (like Frank Archer). However, Edward is only human, and no human can survive a fight with a Homunculus unless he/she knows their weakness, especially since they've got the red stones to revive them everytime they die. In short, fighting them is like committing suicide.

Roy Mustang's alchemic power is really strong, because its a deadly force. He can destroy Edwards iron alchemic power such as cannons, thats when they fought each other in an episode.

Edward had a hard time when he challenged Roy Mustang in a duel, Roy managed to destroy the weapons that he created because with just a click of his fingers, he can unleash or summon a fire!
