Telemarketers  | |  Last week I gor 3 calls from credit card companies wanting to lower my payments. I am on disability and don't own a credit card with payments. I get so mad. I am on the do not call list. I was the marketing manager with a construction company and I had my own telemarkeing team. When someone told us no or do not call they were removed. We had an automatic dialer and every 3 months we had to get a cd from the do not call and clean our lists. That was the law. I have gotten calls from them on Sunday too. That is against the law. And my biggest grip is when I get a call that says to remain on the line for the next rep. How dare they bother me and not even have the decency to have a real person contact me. Oh my! Thanks for listening. I feel better now.

I tell them that im on the list and they say well we bought your name and address from so and so contact them. Im so tired of these people calling. After buying something over the net, the next week I get 10-15 calls from other companies. im so tired of this. When will it ever end?

| | | 2. huswyf (808) | 1 year ago |  We are on the do not call list - in the UK this is known as the telephone preference service - but still get calls. What happens is that rogue companies are dialling numbers at random just to see who picks up. They ask for "the householder" which is a giveaway, if they had a real list they'd ask for you by name.
A lot call from overseas call centres and you end up with some heavily accented person trying to convince you they are local. I feel sorry for the actual staff, they must get paid peanuts, so I always ask to speak to the manager if I'm in the mood to yell at someone.
