I remember reading this poem at school and it was the first poem to help me to realise how verse can stir the emotions. Unfortuneately I can only now remember the last line, which was, 'The earth was blocked, it was filled with stones'. Does anyone know this poem? Do you remember how you felt when you first read it? It's been a long time since I read it but I can still recall the emotion it brought.

http://www.huntfacts.com/RTF_Foreword.htm This is a link to something about it. Hope it's helpful, sorry, couldn't actually find the poem to copy and paste due to copywrite reasons.

Thanks, maybe that's why I can't find a copy but at least I know who wrote it now.

Thanks for the link, it's a shame the poems not allowed to be read.

No I have never heard of it, but when I was a child I was not interrested in Poetry at all. So that is probably why.
