8yr old weighs 14 stone

Over here in the UK we have a child whos only 8 years of age and weighs 14 STONE!!! Social services are now making the decision whether or not that this child should be put into care as they may class this as a form of child abuse!
Whats your thoughts on this subject, is letting a child get so big, child abuse or not?

I'm in Australia and that story is on one of our current affair shows tomorrow night. I'm not sure if you could call it abuse but it is very disturbing. In the shorts that I saw his mother said that if he doesn't get what he wants to eat he throws tantrums so she gives him what he wants....doesn't she realise that he throws these tantrums because he knows his mother gives in to them. I think what really needs to happen here is to send his mother to some parenting courses. I will be watching tomorrow night to get the full story.

i think your right there if she didnt give in to him so much then the tantrums wouldn't be so frequent but he ha lost over a stone since christmas because she is learning to be a bit more strict with him and food
