what would you do if your child's nude pic was passed on the internet?  | |  What would you do if you found out that your child's nude pictures were being passed around on the internet by some stalker freak? I just got a call from the sheriff's department concerning one of my daughter's friends... it scared me at first, because I wondered what my kids had to do with it... and they told me that some stalker freakazoid was sending that girl's nude pics around to her friends and asked that I go into my computer and delete them from our hard drive, they told me it was a criminal offense to pass explicit pics like that... oh gosh, I was mortified for the girl, like why she would do such a thing to begin with, and also for the girls parents, whom I know very well and are great parents. I just wonder how they feel about it.. and what would you do if you were them?

Then it is time to talk to the child, and to also consider seeking counseling, the emotional turmoil of this incident would indicate that family counselling would be needed.
I would want to know how it is possible that the pics of my child had been taken, what circumstances caused this to be happening in our lives. Then get the best help for my child and other family members possible.
I would also consider getting in touch of the parents of my child's friends asking if they would be willing to talk to me about what was happening, so that open honest discussions could happen with thier children in a way that would hopefully bring a healing to my child and her friends.
It sounds like you have real concern for this girl and her parents, congrats on not immediately judging her or them and assuming that they obviously did something wrong because it is very likely they didn't do something wrong.
But as most parents know you can not watch or protect you children 24/7 you can only do the best you can, and make a real effort to do so.
If it happend to the friend of one of my children as in your case then I would hope to talk to my child about it in a way that would cause her to feel compassion for her friend rather than judge or alienate her. I would hope that my child would be willing to talk her friend and her friends parents so that we can learn how to protect all of the children better and perhaps offer friendship and support.

Although I don't have to worry about that, because I don't send pictures like that, to anyone. The only people who ever see naked pics of my son, are my husband and I, my mother, and his mother. I don't think that anyone else needs to see pics like that. Sorry to hear that your friends had to go through this, but they should really watch who they send pictures to.
