Have you ever read any Sherlock Holmes books?

All of them. I know Bantam or some other oddball publisher is selling the entire collection of Sherlock Holmes stories for like 5 bucks.

They all follow the same vein. Something happens, Sherlock holmes gets called out to follow, he studies carefully, takes a smoke, goes on a fast, comes up with an answer.

They're guilty literary pleasures.

Never read them. How do they compare with Murder, She Wrote?

The HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES
and
The Valley of Fear

These apart from most of the Sherlock Holmes Case Books - The shorter stories.
