Sturdy Enclosures

Jack - This is Jack our affectionate big galoof of a baby! He is Husky with German Shepherd mix, and simply a joy - but so destructive on dog houses!

Trying to come up with a shelter for our outdoors dog. He is very strong, snapping through thick cable chains and pulling great weights as of no significance. We have tried dog houses that he just tosses around...including those igloo style houses. Frankly it is is becoming an expense trying to come up with one better after another one. He does not use his dog houses either, he prefers being out in the rain and the cold. But, I want to have him have the option, especially with summers heat coming up soon. What sturdy and weatherproof dog houses have you tried? Can I make one out of cement?

I suggest a sturdy fenced in area.At my old house my dad built a miniature house out if brick. It even had shingles on it.He put hay from our hourse in it.The dog loved it. Does you dog stay outside all the time? If he does you might want to invest in a kennel for your house on those hot summer days.My dog also busts chains and destroys the outside. He is a pitbull dalmation mix.But inside he doesn't touch a thing.Go figure.
