Here is a quick recipe to make your own scented bath salts and if you make a lot you can put it in cute little bottles and jars to give as gifts. It is also a good project to do with young children.
Items needed: 1 Box of Epson Salt, Essential Oils - any variety you like (I like orange or lavender)
Directions:
Mix 1 cup of epson salt with 5 to 10 drops of essential oil.

Can be packed in a zip lock bag and then stored in a glass jar. It seems to hold the scent longer when packed like this. This works best when made in small batches. Bigger batches can be made but it does not seem to smell the same. The jar can be decorated with ribbons and other adornments when giving as a gift.

To use: sprinkle desired amount under warm running bath water.

I hope this recipe saves you money and helps you to de-stress.

Put Baking Soda in it.The scent will last longer if you are not using it right away. And it will stay fresh.Plus this is good in the bath also.I also use a little mineral oil in mine. This is great for dry skin. I used to sell them at the flea markets. And my customers seemed to always come back.

I use epsom salts in my bath and add the essential oil to them when I add them to the water. I love the fresh scent and epsom salts are wonderful to soak in. It can soothe tired, sore muscles and make your body feel much better.

Thats great! I wonder how you make the bath salt with the crystals?? Probably with epson salt and add something for crystals.. My friend makes this peppermint bath salt each year and I love it-- She gives it to people around Christmas for gifts.. Peppermint is a great winter smell..
I'm so going to try this out- Thanks for a great new project to do!

Thanks for posting this homemade salt bath recipe! I will definately try it. I often soak myself in salt baths about every other day. Salt is known to slough off negative energies from the person's electromagnetic field and aura. After I take a salt bath, I notice a difference. I feel lighter, calm, and less depressed. If I just soak myself in just water with no salt, I don't feel any difference. They said if you don't clean the negative energies around your body, it can manifest itself into physical, emotional, and mental illnesses/diseases and even rage.

We made them with one cup salts, and one cup powdered milk, and the oils . The Epsom's salt we use had been in a box with bottle of baby oil that busted. It really worked well for the bath salts. We put them in baby food jars that had been decorated with crepe paper and glue. The girls loved it.
