Would you steal a Picasso?  |

|  I recently read that two new Picasso paintings, worth a total of nearly $66 million, were stolen from a home in Paris earlier this week.
According to police authorities, Diana Widmaier-Picasso, grandaughter of the renowed artist, found signs of breaking and entering into her Paris house, located in the famous 7th district, and was later astonished when she found out that the paitings, Maya and the Doll and Portrait of Jacqueline, were missing.
If stolen paitings from Picasso rarely sell on the black market because potential buyers are afraid to touch them, why do criminals keep stealing them? Do they not realize that major art pieces are only succesfully sold in Hollywood movies?
I ask you this: If giving the chance, would you steal a Picasso?

| |  I think that would be a really dumb thing to do. It would be hard to sell them because they're so rare and advertising such would be very risky

| |  I wouldn't steal anything as its just not in my nature. I think the reason people do it is not for the money, as like you said no one is going to purchase it for the risk of getting caught themselves, but more for the bragging rights perhaps. Or maybe the person didn't even realize it was a Picasso they were taking. Who knows how peoples minds work.

| |  I would not steal a Picasso - no matter the opportunity. Perhaps it is because given the chance - I wouldn't steal anything. I am content with what I have and that's good enough for me. :p
