Ok I totally sent a bad discussion by hitting the wrong button and I am sorry...I was on ebay first item I started to sell was a 17 inch monitor for a e machine,...Lo and behold there are just way to many out there to get it sold so I took the ad down...Two weeks later talking about scams and all on ebay, I keep getting these madeup names on yahoo messenger that are a day old wanting to buy my item..But....they want to pay by cashier check with an extra amount attached so there shipper can pick it up and deliver it to africa..and they need to know my whole name, mailing address, tele number da da da...I am sorry I don't give that stuff out and I told them all as stated in my advertisement to sell this item that I except paypal payment only...Has anyone else had this problem when they sell something on ebay and if you do is there a way to stop these ridiculous replies to my email???

First - only send ebay correspondence via the ebay messager and make sure to NOT sent a copy to your email address. Do not respond to any message via your email source.
Second - this is an obvious scammer who wants to rip you off.
and Last - you'll find alot of information on this and other scams on the message boards in the community section of ebay. There's probably a "guide" that someone has written on the subject at ebay as well.

I sell alot on ebay and yes i had the same problem. wanted to give me extra for using a cashier check. those checks are forgury or stolen, the had a article about it on tv. You did the right thing by not doing it...Also if you get a email about updating your account dont do it from your eamil. I did and my account got hijacked. took several hrs to get it straighted out/
