hello juliemarie!. well i have read that heart disease is a disease which ails the heart from doing its normal function. sometimes we eat a lot of things that gets clogged up in the arteries or veins of the heart which in time will cause an obsturction that is why the heart will now fail to pump blood in the body.. when there is low oxygen in the blood the body will compensate and the heart will pump faster but then no bloood will be able to circulate because one of the veins from the heart has been clogged up so the circulation of blood is hindered or decreased.. when this happens the patient usually suffers a heart attack.. eat healthy, exercise and consult your doctor. i think those are the basic things that one can do to help himself or herslef from having these diseases.
