BARKING DOG ORDINANCE, How do you FEEL about IT passing ??

It has not passed yet, but I heard it had passed in a few of the states is a BARKING DOG ORDINANCE where owners can be written up fines if their dog barks more than 30 minutes in a row. How do you feel about it? I don't like it. We are the owners of a black lab that is completely spoiled and would rather being sitting on the couch than out in her 300 sq ft dog pen that was built for her so in the beginning of putting her out there she will bark at all the other dogs she hears. In fact, our next door neighbor came over one sunny afternoon saying she was going to call animal control and report us for her barking. I was appalled. I knew we were NOT abusing our dog, but to call animal control for her random barking, don't you think that is going to extremes? What are you views??

I fear those ordinances can be abused. If a neighbor get a bug up their butt, that neighbor can call the police and report one for the ordinance. And each time that bug crawls up there again...that neighbor with the dog will have another fine to pay. That could get quit costly! Dogs are going to bark. That is their nature and you can not always stop it. Especially when other dogs are barking. My dogs bark too. I try to usher them inside when they start talking to other dogs...but sometimes my Basset can be very stubborn. LOL

well i love animals so much, but i also work from home and i know if i had a neighbor that had a dog barking for hours on end it would get annoying to me. First off i am a firm believer that dogs should not be kept outside all the time. the only time they should be outside is when the owners are with them. I know when i actually get a house i want to make sure i have a heated garage so that i can put a cage off of the side of the agrage with a doggy door so that when we do go somewhere and we are unable to take our dog with us, i want him/her to be able to come inside and go outside whenever they want.

WE have a dog next door that barks ALL day EVERY day and sometimes night as well! It does get on our nerves there's just never any peace. Its really horrible when i want to sit in the garden in the summer we just cant relax. We have complained and they did take the dog in the house for a couple of days but when they let him out again he just started barking again! Its far from fun living next door to a non stop barking dog! I would welcome this in UK

I hate to listen to dogs barking & barking. I'll get up & shut our dogs up if they get started, but they pretty much will only bark if something is going on outside (and I don't mean the next door neighbor in his yard either.) I had a dog next door that would bark at people in our backyard & that got real tiresome. If a dog is barking outside, it should be quieted, you don't know if one of your neighbors is a day sleeper, is home ill with a migraine, or if your dog is giving them a migraine. There are those devices that can train a dog to not bark, I've heard that they can be pretty successful.
