Has your spouse ever helped you to get through a tough situation?

Shortly after my husband and I got married 9 years ago,my mom suffered a series of heart attacks, our entire relationship has been full of me taking care of mom. My husband has been very understanding and very helpful through it all. The last 2 months have been especially hard, I spent 13-14 hours a day at the hospital with mom. He helped out so much with our 8 yr old son after he got home from work (his mom took care of him before and after school). He did dishes, laundry and what ever else needed to be done, and he still does (he's always helped, but he's done so much more lately). Last week my mom passed away, and I have to say that I have never felt so loved in all my life. My husband took of a couple of days of work just to be with me, and he holds me whenever I need it. If I'm feeling bad during the day, all I have to do is call him and just hearing his voice and knowing he's there for me does wonders! He's the best. I know I couldn't get through this without him.

I'm happy to hear he's such a help to you in times of needs. That's what a spouse/mate does. As you know I have been my fathers caregiver for the past 3 years. you know it's a 24 hr job as you do it also. Now my wife worls 12 hr days 6 days a week as I'm unemployed due to dad needing me. Anyhow her only day off is Sunday. Normally I do the majority of chores around the house. But on Sundays she gives me a break doing everything. It's rough for us both as we hardly ever get to go places like a movie or dinner. When we go out to eat it's on Sat when she doesn't work till 5 p.m. We do the majority of grocery shopping & store shopping at the same time. So she's been a huge help. Also when my mom was ill with cancer I lost a job due to staying with her as my wife stayed in the city. She lived 160 miles from here so instead of back & forth I choose to stay there till she passed which was a week. Unfortunately she passed away while I was heading home to see about my job etc. Good luck & prayers to you & your loved ones.
Happy postings from Grandpa Bob.
