It is funny how all my life I thought that cats and dogs hated each other. Now we have one dog and a cat. The two of them play together alot and it is funny becasue the cat (about 20 lbs) can get our dog (about 100 lbs) to whine, pout and go lay in the corner after defeat. It's fun to watch. Does any one else have anything similar?

I have a 7/8 month old kitten who plays with my dogs, though she hates my younger one. The older one likes the sleep and wag his tail and the cat adores that, lots to chase with him, hes long haired. But my younger dog is around a year and very energetic, she sees the cat moving as an opportunity to pounce like a cat, on the cat. Its kinda funny ,although she can get rough and ill yell at her to leave the cat alone. The cat also washes both dogs, thats realy funny, shes about the size of each dogs head, and she has to clean their faces and inside their ears... Its funny!

I wish my cat would wash my dog! You should try to video record that and send it into American Funniest Vidoes or something.

My daughters yorkinese started lactating and nursing her cats litter, even though she had never even been bread, its been over a year since the litter was born and the cat we kept is bigger then the dog but they are still great friends, even when the dog had puppies she would still let Milo the cat around her babies.

Oh I wish I could upload pictures in to my discussions already. My doberman and my cat used to play like that all the time.Sometimes the cat would go up to the dog and just swat him on the nose for no reason and than strutt away....almost like he was saying....."Yeah and don't you forget who the boss is around here" The dog would just sit there and look surprised. It was funny watching them two together. The picture I have shows both of them sitting in front of each other with their paw up in the air just starring at each other.

I have always had more than one dog and more than one cat. They get along, either because it is their friendly nature that makes them want to, or because as pack leader, I insist! There's no room for disagrement. I'm Alpha, and my "pack" knows it, and accepts it. I have to admit, I think it's really cute to see the dogs and cats curled up sleeping next to each other!

Alas not this time. Usually the kitties get along or tolerate our family's dogs, but neither of my girls like mine or my mom's dog. =/ Shizuku (my dog) loves them and if they would let them he'd snuggle up with them. :) The tom cat that adopted us though gets along just fine with the dogs, go figure.

My sister has multiple dogs and multiple cats, and they get along absolutely brilliantly together.

the two house dogs and cat love each other. When she was a kitten (4 years ago) the older dog would allow her to nurse on her, even though the dog was spayed quite a while before the kitten came into our life) now the cat takes a walk with us when we walk the dogs, she arches her back against the dogs to caress them, and all three groom eachother and sometimes sleep together. IT is really uncanny. We have a large outdoor dog, the cat does not go near him, he is a softie but too big.
