Are you a "Vidiot?"

Don't take offence if you watch a lot of TV, this term has 2 specific meanings.

The first, and original meaning is someone doesn't seem to understand everyone that comes over isn't there to watch TV. That the TV is on all the time & is the "background" music for all conversations. Here again, I'm not talking about going to a friend's house to WATCH a tv show with someone - I, for example, used to go over to watch StarGate when it was on Showtime & I don't have any pay channels. Or to gather to watch a game (something I wouldn't do, but do understand doing.)

The second - and "fanish" meaning is those people that don't seem to know or understand that some programs on TV or movies are based on books. Some of these people actually get upset because the book, if they discover it, might not be like the show. Tarzan was orginally a book - actually a series of books. Sherlock Holmes seems to be better recognized as coming from print, but maybe that's because, at least when I was growing up, I read at least 1 of the short stories in school. Actually, I remember reading "The Million Year Picnic" by Ray Bradbury too. I don't know what they require these days - IF I had a kid, that kid would probably be in at least their 20's today!
