On March 11 North America will move the clocks one hour ahead so the farmers can work in the feilds. But there are places liek Saskatchewan which is mostly farmer do not use day light savings time. Usually it is done last weekend of march but this year it is being doen to save energy. Do we really need this as we have become a 24 hr day society? Do you think it should be scrapped?

I think it should be daylight savings time 265 days per year or standard time 365 days a year. All this does is throw off people's biological clocks twice a year. It also becomes even more insane when trying to set up a chat time with people south of the equator, because of the fall-behind/spring-ahead principle. During those times of the year, things get thrown off by an hour, & then two hours, & it's tough trying to set up online meetings. What makes it worse is that some places don't recognizse daylight savings time, & arranginements can get really screwed up.

I think it should be scrapped huggiebear.(Hi long time no see) It is stupid, come on you don't gain anytime, the sun still comes up and sets at the same time each day depending on the time of the year. Its the stupidest thing anyone has ever come up with. I hate that the governor of our state, recently put Indiana into the stupidness of DST. I hope that we get him out and do away with it again. They did it once before in the 70's and us Hoosier's didn't like it, and we still don't it is stupid.

I'll be honest, I kinda like having to change the clocks twice a year but it's for my own selfish reasons. I like having shorter days in the winter and seeing it get dark earlier in the day. I also like the change in spring when our days grow longer and the suns stays out until almost 8pm. I just like it. I haven't looked into why it should be scrapped but if it became something that was, say, voted on.. I would do some research first, that's for sure.
