| Tree Roots - How to Handle  | | | |  I have three large trees in my backyard and I love them because they hold up my laundry line. The thing I don't enjoy is that there are many roots exposed. How does this get solved? Do I bring in a layer of topsoil and re-sod? I'm really tired of tripping over tree roots.

| |  Two thing you can do.Is build a border around you tre and put top soil over the root, and plant flowers that grow in the shade. Second is you can have the roots chopped off to about 23 feet away fron the tree.It wond affect the tree at all..

| | I think my dogs might try to dig up any flowers I might plant in "their" area. I'll definitely put some more topsoil down so the roots aren't exposed. | |  You did not say what kind of trees you have. Those seem to be roots looking for moisture. Feeder roots maybe. You possibly could cover them with some soil but I think you will need some sort of breatable liner first or all that hard work will have to be done again in the future. Good luck with this. Again if I knew the trees I could possibly tell you more.
