Now that I am back to work, no swelling feet?

Ok, this is a very unusual problem. 6 years ago, I had an implant to repair a broken bone. I was warned of swelling that might occur around the implant (titanium). yep! I've had it! at first, I thought it was because I was working all the time, so, I took some time off. but then I noticed quite a bit more swelling when the leg wasn't working as much. I soon took a job that requires me to be on my feet 10 hours a day, and now I don't have the swelling problem. I haven't drank as many fluids, so I am assuming this is fluid retention of some sort?
I work in construction, and loathe having to use the restroom there, so I won't even drink anything until Lunch break, and then in a small amount until I get home.
this doesn't sound healthy, does it?
