Neon Genesis Evangelion- I really hated it, what do you think?  

I suggest you to read the manga. It's better than the anime version, I think.
For me, Evangelion is quite good. Not the best, but still good.

I love Neon Genesis Evangelion at the beginning, but it got very very messed up later on. I hear it had something to do with the creator being heavily involved with drugs, though that's likely just a rumor.

I did think it was very interesting, and there were parts of it I could see as deep. However, that one episode with Shinji on a train or something goes down in my anime history book as the most boring episode in a anime ever. =p

Well, NGE is one of the best anime to date. To not like it can only mean that you either didn't understand the actual plot or you just started to reject the ideas once you felt that it 'sucked'. =)

i dont understand it that much either(it's the local dubbing's fault in our country), but i dont hate it. it seems interesting, maybe even controversial(?), coz a lot of people seems to love this anime a lot, especially rei, even though personally, her physical appearance doesnt appeal to me that much. i appreciate the art a lot, though. i wouldnt mind using it as reference to my drawing.

I've watched the entire series (including both movies) twice through. Once when I first purchased it, and again later when I met my husband and he told me he hadn't seen it. I feel it's a series that should be watched all the way through at least once in an otaku career.

But I can't say I really like it further than that. It's strange. It starts out okay... and then in the end you're just wondering what the heck is really going on. Did you get it? Did you not get it? Who knows? No, seriously... who -really- knows?? You get the impression that the creator only loosely -knew- himself.

That's the beauty of it. It seems like a bunch of theological theories hashed up into one freaky twisted ideaology... and that's frustrating. You can follow it, but then you realize that you aren't really following anything. It adds up to nothing.

I honestly do think that it should be watched through by anyone who has an interest in anime. It's just another form of the art style. And anime truly is Japanese relief art. They're the Pablo Picassos of our age.

I started off watching it, and thought it was good at first... then after a bunch of episodes it started to feel like it was very dragged out and I lost interest in it real quick. I've always meant to watch it through to the end, since it's supposed to be one of the great ones... but I just haven't bothered, cause I've found so much else that's been able to at least hold my interest for the time being.

Maybe I missed something, maybe it's just not my thing... I don't know. Maybe I need to go watch another girly anime lol

I loved evangelion! It was what got me started with anime, really.
I didn't find it boring in the least. I can see how you'd think it was trying to obviously to be deep, though...of course, when I first watched it, i wasn't familiar with anime and any level of depth to something animated was the most impressive thing on earth to me! Still, to me evangelion seems a lot less 'trying to be deep' like than some other series i've watched. It got all messed up at the end, but somehow that made me just love it more...i'm weird.

Anyway, has everyone else heard about the four new evangelion movies they're making?!! The end is apparently going to be re-written! yay! I'm excited.

I just hated it... Stupid characters and boring story.
