Sound of music = watched this movie in theaters five times.lost count of it watching VCD. DOREMI rings in my ears at the mere mention of this classic movie.Julie Andrews in the title role of Maria is impressive beyond encomiums.Christopher Plummer and the children who played key characters are nonpareill. The songs still fill your heart with enormous joy and mirth. So long farewell...auf weidersehen good bye..............................

couldnot agree more with you. sound of music has an universal, ageless appeal. i can't remember, how many times i have watched it, but the reason was obvious. i was and still is, allured by the innocence and the theme and the evergreen music. it's certainly one of my all time faves. i have had memorised all the songs right from choir 'maria makes me laugh...' to edelweiss and who can forget 'raindrops and roses...' or do re mi or even adieu adieu adieu. i have even liked the indian versions of the first part of the movie in bengali and hindi. i think the theme has an irrestible appeal.
sukumar, now that i have grown up, i have bought the DVD of sound of music and i can see the same brightness in the eyes of my nephew and neices when they watch it.
thank you
