There are different stages to menopause, perimenopause, premenopause and then menopause.
One good site for information on this topic that may answer some of the questions you have would be
www.earlymenopause.com
Some symptoms are hot flashes, mood swings, and changes in your period.
So yes this does mean that it could be that a woman can swing into becoming angry rather quickly with out warning, as well as being weepy and over emotional.
It would be best to do a bit of research on the topic before considering any kind of pills, or medications.
The url that I posted her does list some natural remedies that will help with the symptoms of menopause and premenopausal symptoms.
This is a natural change that happens to every woman, it will vary in degree some becoming very volitile, others just emotional, as in weepy and sensitive, others find thy have little or no extremes in symptoms at all.
It is going to vary from woman to woman. Many women will choose to use a Hormone replacement therapy to deal with the mood swings, night sweates, hot flashes, but some would prefer a natural remedy.
Only you can know what is best for you, and be sure what it is you are working on you wouldn't want to begin HRT if you have not started your menopausal cycle.
You may want to consider some of the natural remedies, such as soy, flaxseed, or vitamins B, and E and A, but it is important that you know yourself, and that you don't take the wrong things, or to much of any thing.
So it is always best to find out from your doctor where you are. A blood test can let you know.

I don't think so the best person to ask on that one would be a doctor, it hits different women at different ages, though they say the younger you are when you begin your menstral cycle the older you are when you begin menopause, and the older you are when you begin your menstral cycle the younger you are when you start menopause.
This is something that seems to be true in my family. My sister is older than I am and hasn't started menopause yet, but she started her cycle at a young age around 11/ 12, I was a late bloomer, didn't start til 15/ 16, then only twice a year until I was 17/18, and I started menopause in early 30's.
I know of a woman who didn't start until she was in mid to late 50's. she even got pregnant at age 50 which was rough. Since she felt she was safe at her age, she and her husband were very surprised. But it seems this kid is loved as by all even if her nieces and nephews are her playmates.
