Lucky Draws

At a dinner today, I was a lucky winner. My ticket number was the 2nd number called when the first lucky draw session started. It was no big deal, you may say. To me, it was. This is the first time in my life I have won a lucky draw at a dinner! I did a calculation. The chance of winning was 0.032%. Though it was the second prize from the bottom, I was elated. It wasn't the value of the lucky draw, it is a fact that I won. How about you? How lucky have you been at lucky draws?

Even though this discussion was 3 years back, I still find an appeal to answer it. You were just so lucky to win that lucky draw there before. I have never had the chance to win one and I've always watched how others have gotten some and they looked extremely jubilant.. LOL

The mylot friend whom have said that to you was certainly correct, Iriene. mylot is a wonderful site and one thing tends to lead to another.. LOL .. in a good way, that is. The discussions are aplenty and sometimes one discussion will be lead to another. I tend to have that kind of addiction.. You are definitely most welcome..

Dear whyaskq, Congrats on your winning 3 years ago... so, I hope there will be more updates on winnings here! This is a wonderful topic, tks to zed_4 for reviving it! I too would like to share on lucky draws - purely based on luck, and on winning prizes based on effort! 3 years ago, my husband and I was invited to a dinner by Pensonic, a local electrical good manufacturer. I subscribe this magazine and I got this invites..it was held in 5 star hotel with red carpet, local celebrities were invited too, the MC was from Hong Kong..I did not know that it was so grand and was a red carpet affair! Thank God I was properly dressed, reporters and tv man are all there. Upon guest registration we are to dropped our name cards into the 'fish bowl'transparent container! During the 2 hours dinner, they have lucky draws, my name was called for consolation prizes ~ I won a table fan (I sold it)..my husband said..'oh. you miss the chance to get the grand prize', the I said..'it is better to win now than not at all!' At the end of the dinner, they reveal the grand prize, a home 6-filters system worth RM1999 (1 USD = 3.5 RM). You know what, most of the names they called has left or went out to smoke...they will called for 3 times, if he/she did not turned up, it is burnt..the next name card was to be called..and the 2nd last name card in tghe 'fish bowl' was called.. my husband name card...we are so happy, thank God!

Dear whyaskq, Thanks for updating your winning...great job, even though it's just a packet of biscuit...but the joy of winning and be able to post it here is AWESOME Recently in month of May, my son and I won a hotel stay and spa package from Holiday Inn, Melaka. We won Pandora's Box by Mix FM (12/5/09) (Big Thanks to Mix FM & Holiday Inn Melaka) 1) I & my son managed to break the 7 digits code with the given clues :- Need a cellphone, a pen & a piece of paper (on our cell phone keypad there are correspondence number / digit with the alphabets. Just take the first letter of each clue and break the 7-digit code.) Clues : Me (in English), heart, blank (fill in urself), time, creature, contender, unknown! You may try to break the code... Pls do not see the answer yet.. :) :P :D =) =D =O The answer : 4589682 The full sentence : " I Love To Watch Monsters Vs Aliens " Hahaha, just for the fun ot it...or am I confuse you??

Well done, congratulations on winning. :) I've not won much really, I've won a couple of raffles and I think that's about it.

Never had any luck with those draws. I really don't know but perhaps my luck always lets me down when it comes to draws. My wife however has been lucky in most of draws. I guess that makes us a perfect pair.

Wow, you are sure lucky! So, let us in on it... I am still curious what you won. :P I did win things at dinner lucky draws before. I remember one which was at my junior college's graduation dinner. I won a towel - not just any cheapskate towel (mind you! :p) - but one that is embroidered with very intricate designs. Another time I remember was at a dinner function with Toastmasters. I won a BMW-branded umbrella but one blur friend whom I asked to help me take care of the item lost it accidentally. *ahem* So I guess I am a wee bit lucky after all! ;-)

Something useful - An electric box fan. Guess you are understanding enough. Your blur friend must be feeling very bad.

Nah, I don't think she's feeling sorry about it at all. After all, she knows I am always so magnanimous and remember this incident only to tease her. :P
