I have vacationed in a lot of different places in the U.S. but I think as far as swimming in the ocean I enjoyed Floridas beaches best on the main land and Hawaii over all. What about you?

I thought the beach in Pensacola,Florida (we'we been to lately) was very impressive with icing sugar like sand, very very clean, enormously large and not too crowded.I don't know who's got the best beaches, all I can say that I was very much impressed with that. Also the lifeguards were on hand, sheriffs office not too faraway, all the facilities handy,we felt safe and enjoyed ourselves immensely.

I definitely feel that Hawaii has the best beaches of any of the US States. The water is so clean and clear blue and is very pleasant to swim in. The sand is white and very clean as well and you can enjoy it all year round. For those who like to surf, you can do that there as well as the other water activities. The people there are very friendly and helpful. Florida has some nice beaches though the water is not as nice as Hawaii.

I agree. Hawaii is really something. I have been there several times as a kid. Would like to go back with my family some day. Thanks for responding.

My favorite Beach is the wedge in newport beach, southern california. The waves get up to 25 ft there and break on shore. It is fun to watch the nutcases go out and bodysurf, bodyboard, and surf it. Its one thing to see big waves on youtube or on t.v., but to see it in real life its pretty cool. I suggest this beach to anyone who likes big waves or enjoys watching them. This is a video of the wedge recently if your interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeL1KJepYps
