NO HAIR OF THE DOG FOR YOU!
Have a nasty hangover? Don't go for the traditional "hair of the dog" (more alcohol) method of treatment, or you'll take forever to feel better. Rather, drink fruit juice diluted with water or seltzer. Drink this in twice the volume of the alcohol that gave you the hangover, and it will help. Once you're able, eating crackers and honey will ease your nausea, and drinking bouillon will restore your
salt and potassium levels.
EASING HEARTBURN
If you are prone to mild heartburn, avoiding certain foods can help ease your situation. Try to eat less of (or none of) tomatoes, citrus fruits, garlic and onions, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, and peppermint. These foods relax the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), the valve between the esophagus and stomach. When the LES is relaxed, it opens too far, allowing stomach acid to seep into the esophagus and cause a
burning sensation...heartburn. Herbalists say that drinking ginger tea can ease your heartburn quickly, particularly if it is caused by stress.
