It has been a bit windy here during the last 48 hours.
When the barometric pressure is this unstable my pain climbs all over me, but is not nearly as bad as it might be without my trusty vicodin, flexeril, and etodolac.
If you can imagine someone exposing a nerve from your neck and then clamping a vise grip on it, that is how the pain feels. If I can avoid moving it doesn't intensify much, but it sucks not being able to move around as I like. A few muscle spasms create a new layer every few minutes and everything comes to a screeching halt until they pass.
For those of you who also deal with conditions that cause chronic pain, is March one of the toughest months?

Ah, the dreadedChinook. I hate this time of year. My migraines double, and my joints ache from even walking half a mile. luckily, I can manage most of my problems with just sleep and Ibuprophen. I can't imagind what it must be likefor someone who has constant pain and a reaction to low pressure

Nah, its thechinook. being on theast side of the divide, we both get them. Sudden drops in air pessure followed by warm weather. it has a lotto do with the geography of where we live. If you look, you can probably even see a chinook arch in the west a few hours before the low hits. its a break in the clouds like a blue ribbon surrounded by grey

I'm sorry you are having such a bad time. Yes Feb, March and April are the worst months for my Fibro and arthritis. Since mid Feb we've had 2 ice storms, 2 snowstorms and for last 5 days it has been terribly windy. The temperature keeps going up and down drastically along with the barometric pressure. It's been a daily battle just to decide whether I should even get out of bed or not.
Hang in there, spring is on the way :)

Oh I know how that is believe me. Normally March here in Florida is better weather but not this year. We are having very low temps for us and it is playing havoc on my body. Any barometric pressure changes, highs or lows, causes my head to explode and we get thos almost daily here. It makes live interesting doesn't it? Right now I'm curled up with a blanket, trying to keep any drafts off me (Florida homes are not built for cold at all) and I just took some Tylenol. I wish I had perscription pain meds but considering my allergies I might have a hard time finding one I could take but right now I think I'd deal with the allergies over the pain.

The weather affect my pain too. I have been in alot of pain and the prescription meds make me feel really bad. I cant stand it. I too live with cronic pain 24 X 7 and have since 1986. Some days is worse than others. Unless you have delt with this kind of pain, you cannot imagine the affects on your life. You have my sympathy and I do hope you are pain free soon.

I live outside of the Chicago suburbs and it has so windy here for the past month. The weather has been so nasty. Warm one day and cold the next. I have bad sinus problems and when the weather is like this my pain is very bad. I know where you are coming from.

Probably for me.
Different reasons though, I have been having back pains for sometime and I think this is the way I sleep. :)
March isn't a easy month for myself although this year I'm planning and hoping for one easier than past ones.
I hope you feel better soon sagemother, Also goodluck with Pdf! If you ever want a free shout out to it let me know. I run several forums with quite a few users and I'm also a member of two writing resources. (This doesn't count my projects myspace pages which have a lot of friends + contacts)
Kudos!
