Do you think Indian cinema is changing and changing for the better? |
|
REcent trends of films shows that directors are exploring newer and newer topics and coming up with scripts which would not have come up a few years ago.directors are now becoming experimental in their approach. and the audience too wants to see something new. they are now bored of the traditional Indian plot of a villian and a hero and his revenge.there have been films recently whose topics are very contemporary.

WaxXII (1234) | 3 years ago | Yes, I agree. Indian cinema is changing new directions. Directors and story writers are producing new, unseen, mature and strange stories and films. In the past same kind of movies were made only, but now indian cinema has a wide variety of films on different topics and ideas.

2. anonymili (2895) | 3 years ago | I have to admit to being a great fan of Bollywood films and I try to turn a blind eye to the increasing number of plots that have been lifted straight from Hollywood films or films from other countries. I watched and enjoyed Zinda not long ago with the lovely Sanju playing a bit of an anti-hero and found the story to be really different and thought it was unique, only to find out later that the story had been lifted from a Korean film called Old Boy or Old Guy with just so many similarities that it was like daylight robbery. Pretty much all the Bollywood films I've seen that I thought had really good storylines seem to have lifted stories from films from other countries. Don't get me wrong, they are using interesting concepts but it would be so lovely if I knew more of these films had original storylines. Even Yakeen I watched some time ago, on its own - an excellent film and story BUT I remember the story very clearly copied from a Hollywood film of the early 80s! Bar changing the endings somewhat copying is very common. The next best thing seems to be making remakes of older films - Don was remade (although the story brought much more up to date and the ending changed somewhat), they're doing Sholay too as far as I'm aware. On top of that there are several films which are being released as sequels such as Krish, Dhoom 2, Lage Raho Munnabhai - which I have to admit are actually pretty good. In Hollywood films sequels tend to get slated a lot but our Bollywood seems to be doing a pretty good job with sequels.
All in all it's much better than siblings being separated at childhood, parents being split up and the siblings finding each other many years later when they've grown up and getting the parents back together and dealing with the bad guys who split them all up in the first place... I don't need to see anymore of those films LOL!

| paypalraj (64) | 3 years ago | i dont want to play an advocate of so called "inspired" films but would like to mentio here that i had watched a french film (whose name i forgot) and then after a few years we had a release called "pyar to hona hi tha". whish was a scene to scene "inspiration" of the original french film.
but.... but...
Even if this film is a copy let me tell you that our very own actors ajay devgan and kajol are far far superior actors than that in the original.
i think this is the first copied film in which the actors have done a superb job.the orinal film and it actors appear to be inferior in this particular case..
i dont mind if these kind of "copying" goes on.

4. pranesh245 (231) | 3 years ago | If we study the current trend in Bollywood cinema, its quite clear that they are changing and movies are made with innovative ideas.I have seen recently RANG DE BASANTI,MUNNA BHAI,desi version of Othelo i.e. OMKARA and the list is enough.I was very impressed with the ideas that new generations of directors have to show the world. Now the indian movies are also getting the international platform.

7. Susharti (2075) | 3 years ago | Yes, its changing, but at very slow speed and with fearfulness in mind. The real change will only appear after 5-6 years, when we stop imitating other and start making films on original stories and character.
