Baby bottle  

I think parents need to just do what is right for there child. Some kids will need a bottle longer then others i dont think you can just say hey happy 1st birthday now give me that bottle.

I started introducing sippy cups around 1 1/2 2 years. But by 2 it was a bottle at night and in the evening,the rest was sippy cups.

I think it depends on the child. Keeping a bottle for too long is bad for the teeth, but some kids need it past a year old.
My son was weaned by the time he was 7 months old. We had introduced sippy cups with straws, so that he could drink his juice, and he didn't want the bottle anymore. He was weaned completely of the bottle the same day he had his first drink from a straw sippy cup. He just weaned himself.
I know most babies aren't that easy, though. My son is 13 months old now. I think I would definitely be working on weaning him now if he hadn't already done it for himself, though. I just think that when babies are talking and walking, they are probably ready to be rid of the bottle. He eats anything that we do. I would be trying to make sure he eats it the same way we do.

DS wasn't interested in cups until after he turned 1. He'll drink from them now, but when he's tired or frustrated, he really just wants to cuddle with his bottle. We're trying to gradually phase him off of them, but we're not pushing him.
