All right, first I would include the Brown's because they are capable of reproducing and having children, vital to the start of a new world. The doctor from London, medical care will be critcal in this new world and she can also reproduce - well, one assumes so and hopefully she will have trained a midwife by the time she needs one. The chemist, not only is she female, but there will probably be a need for at least some simple chemistry in the new world - maybe she & the doctor can figure out some simple medicines. The engineer, even if it is as simple as working out levers, or bridges, he can be helpful, besides providing a larger gene base. The farmer - well, duhhhhh, this is going to be a critical skill in their new world. The big game hunter, because there will probably be a need for hunting at least to some part (he might find his game is smaller than he likes.) The baby girl, because the genetic pool will always need to be larger and to provide potential mates to the sons of the Brown's. The teenager, he can be retrained to a new skill (farming?) and he can also provide a younger person to be between the young babies & the adults. And the sea captain - because who's going to get them to the island. An older man can still provide genetic stock while an older woman, can't. I left off the actor, the jazz singer, the teacher, the nurse and the pastor because, while the teacher might have needed skills, in this new world, education will probably go back to the teacher/apprentice sort of training situation, and the entertainers, because they don't really have a skill that'll help survival. The pastor might just annoy everyone, we don't know anything else about him, so we can't be sure, better to not take the chance and the nurse, well, we assume the nurse is female, but still, the only old person we know I'm taking it the sailor because he has a useful skill (and probably can fish after they get there.)

This was a tricky one... 1&2 Mr. and Mrs. Brown-they would be needed to hopefully help repopulate. Since the are a young couple, they have a good chance of producing children. Ans because of their age (hers in particular) they will have time to have a large number of children. 3.the Pastor-Since all but one of the people I'm choosing is an adult or close to it, I'm assuming their faiths, if any, are already established. I think the pastor in this situation would be important to emotional well being and willing to be open to other faiths if any are present. 4.the doctor-if these are the only people, they will need to remain healthy if there is to be any hope for mankind. I think a doctor would be important. 5.the chemist-considering the primitive situation they will be living in, I doubt a chemist would be very helpful. 6.an engineer-similar as the chemist, under the circumstances don't think his abilities would be able to be put to use. 7. the farmer-his knowledge would be very valuable to their survival. He will have better knowledge on how to begin crops, care for them and store the harvest. 8. Hollywood actor- I think he wouldn't be vital under the circumstances. 9.jazz singer-She could be useful as a female but without a usable skill, she would have to stay behind. 10. old sea captain-He has experience on the seas. There would be no point in choosing who to put on the boat if no one knew how to sail it. Also perhaps he would have time to return for the other 5. 11. animal hunter-his skills would also be extremely important to their survival. Unless this new world became strictly vegan, they would need to have some one knowledgeable in hunting animals for meat. 12.newborn girl- she would be needed as the beginning of the second generation. She would be a guarantee that the Brown's son, should they have one, would have a partner (besides their own sisters). 13.teacher- she would be important because she is a female and a teacher, her language skills would only be helpful if they wanted to preserve all the languages instead of just using the one they have in common. 14.young boy- He wouldn't be needed for his computer skills but for his age. The main goal of this group of people is to repopulate. A younger boy/man has a higher chance of being fertile. 15.retired nurse-I really wanted to put her on too but didn't have the room. She would have been helpful to the doctor. Actually I assumed female although it didn't specify. I chose to leave her behind because although her skills could have been put to use, if she is retired she is most likely past her childbearing years.

A male animal hunter from Africa I did this list by which would be needed more. Of course the island would need a doctor and someone who can understands how to mend and build things. (most know electric and diy too) The baby girl wouldn't be anything, so the possible to gain knowledge and allow her to become what ever the island needs. (well being young) which is important. The teacher is very important to pass and help the growth, awhile the hunter can find food and the experience is very, very useful for survival. Kudos, ~Joey
