Crock pots can be a cooks best friend when she has a busy hectic day ahead of her. It is always comforting to come home and not worry about having to cook dinner. This is an easy recipe and is quite tasty. I sometimes add diced banana peppers, mushrooms or fresh tomatoes to this dish. I also use some monzerella cheese and some parmasean cheese. I dont use the sesoning salt, instead I use some garlic and tarragon. You can add whatever sounds good to you and your family to make it tastier.
Crock Pot Saucy Rice
2 lbs. ground chuck or beef
1 med. onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 (28 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 1/2 c. water
2 1/2 tsp. chili powder (or to taste)
1 tsp. seasoned salt (to taste)
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 c. raw rice,
3 stalks celery, chopped
pinch of black pepper
Brown beef in skillet and drain off fat. Put all ingredients in crock pot. Stir thoroughly. Cover and cook on Low 7 to 9 hours or on High 3 hours. Stir in cheese and sprinkle on top (if desired).

At first I was concerned about the rice being too done. Now have looked at this it is a good one. One we can even alter a bit for variety. This is going to the notepad right now. Thanks much for sharing this recipe today.

Thanks.Another crockpot recipe for me. Plus I really don't have many ideas for rice dishes. So this is a double benefit for me. If you have more crockpot recipes I would be very interested in having more.
