Definetly with no abuse...it'll be imprinted in tbem and they'll show signs of it throughout life and imagine how many people will be effected by here, and imagine how you could effect here. By harsh mean words, or whoopings....you put your kid at a bad state that your the punisher, and they can be a punisher too. But-you asked how, well depending on the problem think it through and do what you think is best. I n time your kid will see you think through your actions and they should think through theirs.

Don't hit them back. It doesn't make sense to hit them to make them stop hitting. The most effective method I've used on my child is to go to them, get down to their level, look them in the eye and say firmly "No hitting" or whatever he is doing wrong. Repeat it a few times. Then move the child away from the situation. Consistency is important. Keep doing this and eventually, your kid will listen and stop doing whatever it is you don't want him to do. Mine did. Now, all I have to do is just give him "the look" from across the room and he knows he's not supposed to do that and will stop and walk away.

well my daughter did it for a while, so i told her not to do that! ofcourse she didn't listen. i tried to put her attention to something else, like: would you like to help mummy with the laundry? that worked good for my daughter!
when she became two years i used the hallway for two minutes, that helps now!
