My previous passport had a photo of me that I didn't like much.I have got rid of it now and I have a new one with a recent photo and I like it.I used the same photo in my voters ID and other ID cards, but after scanning, it compresses my face, lol.I guess, I have already learned to live with it.

True, most of the government issued IDs are really annoying. I mean, why can't they take our photos nicely? After all, we've paid for it, fallen in line while trying to get that ID done, and we got to use it for years. My worst ID ever was my Voter's ID. I got it when I was nineteen for the national election. And I hate it coz my photo there was really horrible and I did ask if I there's a way they can another photo of me but what I got was a big NO. *sigh* well, I still have it in my wallet though but I put it at the bottom of all my IDs. :P

In the past I just settled for the photo they gave me, but not anymore. When I go for the drivers license I always tell the photographer to make sure I am smiling and that I do not look fat, I know they are not real photographers and they could care less how we look. So far that technique had worked. I just went for my passport and said the same thing to the guy and he told me I could view the photo and if I did not like it I could have it redone, which I think was very nice. I need the best photos now that I am older. ;)

Most ID photos look more like mug shots. I think the photographers go to a special training school to make sure they come out that way. If by some miracle you do get a good photo something happens to it and you have to get a new one and that one will be lousy.
