Why do you listen to or why do you like Japanese rock?  

I first got into Japanese popular music through anime soundtracks as well, specifically the Prince of Tennis soundtrack. For a while I kind of just stuck with those few songs, and branched out a little to check out what other music those artists had done. However, the tenipuri songs are pretty much just jpop.

I didn't get into jrock until a few months later, when I started watching the Death Note and D. Gray-man anime series which both featured jrock OP and EDs. I decided I kind of liked jrock better because while jpop is happy, cheerful and usually has a good beat and fun lyrics, jrock often feels more substantial and genuine.

I still haven't explored a lot of artists in the jrock genre, but recently I've started listening to BUMP OF CHICKEN who, despite their questionable band name, have some really great music out there. Their sound reminds me of a lot of the Western rock music that I listen to, which isn't too surprising since I read that one of their main influences was the Beatles.

I really like how jrock artists actually play the music for their songs rather than just dance around like many of the jpop boybands. They definitely feel more ... organic? I guess would be the word. Then again, I've still only really seen/heard a few of the bands, so I can't make much of a generalization.

jrock is very westernize and its fun to listen to. Its pretty good language.

I choose the music that I like to listen to. And I listen to this kind of music because of it's arrangement of notes and the harmonious combination and lastly the message of the song. I also like their MTV for they really apply the art not only through music but as well as on how they interpret their song.

just like any typical anime fan. fist it was the anime who has the big influence, and then gradually will look for other songs of that certain jpop or jrock artist. as it goes later on i got hooked up with jrock, because it has this really good and cool music. it does feel good, the rythm or the beat, the mix of sounds and instruments and the vocals. jrock has many variety and everyone has their unique styles which got me. not to mention those looks, the gothic, crossed dress and heavy make ups of the artists. ofcourse its what most of the fans got tied up to. but for me it will be first their music, then the vocals, and that general appearance would be the last though not ignored. and i can say that i have a huge passion for jrock music because i love jrock.

I like jrock, especially jrock indies, because it has unique characters. Jrocker usually used great constume and make up and moreover there're crossdresser too.
The lyrics also great, coz sometimes they play the word between japanese word and Engrish.

I've been listening to jrock music since I was a baby. Loudness was the band I grew up listening to. When I was in the fourth grade, I decided to look for more Japametal (Japanese Metal) bands. That how I was introduced to Seikima II and X Japan. I grew up listening to metal bands, KISS and Judas Priest were the big ones for me, so I fell in love with these bands. The sad thing is for me is that a month after I got into jrock, hide died. I was so heart broken since I knew one of the band I just gotten into were never going to reunite ever again. I still can remember when Gackt was in Malice Mizer, and when Dir en Grey only had Missa and Gauze out. In fact, I don't even notice that I'm different from a lot of people since I listen to jrock music. I even remember when Augura Kei was the "IT" genre of visual kei. Now it's Oshare Kei. I still remember the big, teased hair dominating most of the 1990's era of visual kei and the drag queen-like make up. It's a part of my life now, and that's why I listen to Jrock. I have many fond memories about it.

Hmm ..let's see , my passion for jrock , and jartist in general , started with anime as well ^^ . I like them because they are different , i like them because they are creative , i like them because they can be cute and nice looking but talented as well . I like them because they sing on concerts till they faint , they love their fans and always share thoughts , stories and lot of things with them ^^. Their songs have something special that even translated into English doesn't make them better than the Japanese version. Some of them like Gackt are so creative that every song has it's own characteristics and story ,whenever you listen to his song you feel like you listen to another person all the time ^^ . Some song make you cry even if you don't understand a thing ^^'' . For me they are the best ^__________^

I love listening to all cultural music and Jrock is one of my favorites. Jrock singers put a lot of emotions in their lyrics and voice; it's hard not to fall in deep with Jrock. It's either you like it or you don't.
