When you were a child what was in your back yard?

Was it a swing set, or tree house? Maybe a garden or some fruit trees. Maybe just a lot of your dads junk..... What do you remember about your back yard when you were sent out to play?

Oh I loved our backyard when I was a kid, I had a make believe shop set up with all the emty boxes and little bottles, I loved playing shop, no real customers just pretend ones, I had a black board set up on the garage wall where I would play school teacher with all my dolls, I had so many dolls, strange how things have changed, the time I was inside the house was to eat and sleep, my backyard was a world of its own.

you are 100% right. To a child, a backyard can be a whole other world. Once they head out that door imaginations can often run wild. It was so great being a kid.

My mom did daycare for a lot of years, we had a backyard that was partially fenced in, the part that was fenced had a swing set, sandbox,a balance beam, and tons of toys. My dad was always great with building things for us. We also had a veggie garden that we helped care for and small flower beds. We also had a nice driveway where we could ride our bikes and skate.

What a great backyard and what a great father. You were lucky kids and I'm sure the memories of something simple as a backyard will stay with you for a long time.

I had many sleepovers out there. Oh it was fun-- Also bike ramps-.. then we had a small barn-- no animals just like a work shop-- Always a vehicle out back- My brothers-- he was always working on one! Oh what great memories!

My backyard as a child wasn't very child freindly in the sence we had outdoor toys. We would get junk out of the shed, (quite rusty and dangerous now that i think about it!) and make an obsticle course and pretend to be in the army or in a circus. We also had a pond and one day we went to the frog pond, as it was called, and took some frogspawn and ended up with little frogs EVERYWHERE so it was really hard for my mum to mow the lawn. We would also spend hours chalking out "roads" on the floor and driving round in circles on our little bikes and such. Was good fun :)
