The man has written hundreds and hundreds of songs, but which one is your favorite?

I love "Desolation Row", such a classic.

I am not a big fan of his music but I did like the song he did about Hurricane Carter. They also used this song in the movie. The long version of it is really good.

I like most of his songs, what interested me was the song 'I'll Be Your Baby Tonight' it was years after Dylan wrote it he realised people thought it was written from a baby's point of view. This impressed me. I love Changing of the guards, I alwayed thought it was almost like a lulabye

I would say "Masters of War". The lyrics are so true, and even several years later apply to the situation our country is in now.

My favourite Dylan' songs are: Hurricane, Mr. Tamburine Man, Along the Watchtower, Blowin' in the Wind, Like a Rolling Stone, The Times They Are A-Changin' and of course Knockin' On Heaven's Door (even if i prefer the guns'n'roses' one...:P)

Dylan has written at least a few dozens of my favorite songs. No way I could choose a favorite.

wow ..he is incredible...he has so many great songs and i am sure there are plenty that i never heard...he has been so powerful in the anti-war movements of the past, but it seems like today the powers that be are censoring these heroes of the past...he and the bands of the 60's were, and will always be my heroes...!

1 of bob dylans role models was,WOODY GUTHRIE,who was arlo guthrie's father.

woody was was a folk singer during the great depression,he sang about the plight of the common man during those hard times and was said to be a great inspiration to dylan, along with PETE SEEGER..!

and of course, big business along with the diplomats of those times did not appreciate the lyrics of these great men..!

the lyrics usually depicted how government and big business were robbing the common people..!

i can say 1 thing...we sure need them here now...these powers that run this country have caged everybody up again and it looks it might be for good this time...

i know back in the 60's...these musicians were so powerful that they and... "we common folk"..managed to impeach NIXON...even though the next thief came along and gave NIXON amnesty...we sure shook those creeps up...!

and we need them now...!

I can't really decide on a favorite. Prolly shelter from the storm or tangled up in blue. Desolation row has got to be one of the best

He's probably the most prolific singer/songwriter ever if you go by 'artists performing their own songs'.

I love most of his songs before 1980 or so, and even a lot of those after, but to me there is one of his songs that stands out: "One Too Many Mornings" it says a lot about the human conditions in few words and it sounds so timeless. It could've been written yesterday or five hundred years ago...

I guess everyone has a line that makes them connect with a song and in this case, for me, this is the one: 'it's a restless hungry feeling that does no one no good' I don't remember ever seeing another line that so concisely describes unrequited love in so few words.
