I had to look that up, I'd never heard of a betty crocker bake n fill kit before. Looks like several different shaped cake tins is that right? Why not start with a basic all in one sponge recipe? thats always versatile and you need something you are used to if you are trying out a new oven. Real ovens are wonderful to use, are you wood, coal or gas fired? Using real fire if you have been used to the fast but unimaginative cooking power of electricity can take some getting used to, but its well worth it, the flavour seems much better I think in a traditional oven.

Here is an article about the Bake and Fill for those who don't live in the US. Maybe someone can come up with a recipe for you after they read this? It's from WZZM13 NEWS Coverage. ...The pans let you prepare cakes with all sorts of fillings like ice cream, jello or fresh fruit Two cake mixes were needed, and the step-by-step instructions were helpful. After making the cake mixes and filling the tall pan, a separate insert pan was placed on top, which creates the pocket for your filling. Then a separate bottom cake pan was also filled with cake mix...When it came time to slice the cake, unfortunately the pudding oozed out. After reading the directions more closely, the pudding recipe calls for instant pudding and has specific instructions that would create a firmer set for the pudding. Lauren and the folks at Arnie´s determined the Bake ´n Fill pans are fantastic, but read the directions on the pudding or you´ll goof like they did. Good luck!
