be careful - urgent - this is a scam!

I got two emails today, from compunotixt7v30@pay.com and from compuhi25xy5@capone.com stating they needed to "verify information" (the email is below, it's identitical, just the name is different, one for Cap One and one for Pay Pal). If you get this email PLEASE call the company and verify if they tried to contact you, most only do so by phone or mail, not through unsolicited emails. I believe this is a scam and that even though where it says "login" it takes you to the page, I think this is so the guys can see what computer you're using and get your passwords.
PLEASE be careful my MyLot friends and never give out personal information (your real name, address, ph#, social security number, birthdate, credit card/bank account #'s, etc.) Protect your privacy b/c someone (like these guys sending the emails) would love to steal it!
The email I received:

From time to time, randomly selected accounts are placed under
an advaced updating process based on merchant accounts/bank
relations and on-file credit cards.
PayPal may also request in an email message, scanned/faxed
copied of one ore more photo ID`s.
Your account confirmation may go wrong if your credit card/bank
account has expired, or if you have changed/replaced your credit card
without letting us know about the change.
YOUR ACCOUNT IS NOT SUSPENDED, BUT IF IN 36 HOURS AFTER YOU
RECIEVE THIS MESSAGE YOUR ACCOUNT IS NOT CONFIRMED WE RESERVE
THE RIGHT TO TERMINATE YOUR PayPal SUBSCRIPTION.
If you recieved this notice and you are not an authorized PayPal
account holder, please be aware that it is a violation of PayPal
policy to represent oneself as an PayPal user.
Such action may also be a violation of local, national, and/or international law.
To confirm your account status please LOGIN
-complete the required information to authenticate and reset your account
-make sure your account balance has not been changed
-make sure your details have not been changed
-review recent transactions in your account history for any unauthorized
transfer
If you find any type of suspicious activities please contact us immediately.
Please include in your message your account number, your account name
and the unauthorized transfer date & time.
