What are shingles??? All I know is they are adult chicken pox, am I right??

My mom recently went to the doctor and they said she had shingles on her arm. It started with an intense pain and now there are blisters popping up everywhere. The doctor said the pain could remain their for life but in most cases it goes away within 6 months. Has anyone else ever had this or maybe known someone that has?? Does the pain go away? Are they okay now? How do you get this to begin with?

Yes, that is exaclty right. Only when you are an adult and you get Shingles (chicken pox) it is much more uncomfortable and painful. Hope your mother gets over it soon.
