What is ASPCA® Mission: Orange™? (ASPCA is The American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) ASPCA® Mission™: Orange is a focused effort by the ASPCA, in partnership with select “target” communities, to create a country of humane communities, one community at a time; where animals receive the compassion and respect due to them as sentient beings, and where there is no more unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable animals simply because of a lack of resources or awareness. What can you do to support their efforts? Just spreading the word helps stop abuse, cruelty and neglect. http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=missionorange_overview

Thank you. I received an email from them this morning and sent their E-card to my friends.

This is a topic very near and dear to my heart as you would have already guessed. I love to hear news like this. So many animals can be readopted. I have a hard time to give up or let others adopt some of the real hard luck cases that come through here. That is why I have waaay to many pets. But they sure fill the house with warmth and love. I still think my adoptees have helped me out more than I have helped them. I was such a down in the mouth empty nester that they filled the whole in my heart.

It must be so hard to let go of some of them. I almost adopted a lionhead rabbit today because the owner has to move out of the country on family bussiness. I luckily found someone who was looking for a rabbit to take it. I know I would have had to keep it not just find it a good home...lol
