Help with Madden online using bluetooth headset please

So bought a bluetooth headset today for my playstation 3 and I did all the settings ect. but when I go to play Madden 2006 it doe not show the headset by my user name like it did with the corded PS2 headset I am playing madden 2006 on the PS3 will it not work with the bluetooth since it is a PS2 game? If anyone could help thanks
