I cannot stress this enough - it makes more of a difference than most people ever realize.
Make sure that all of your tires are properly inflated and balanced, this reduces the resistance and allows your car to roll more smoothly.
Mind you, if you accelerate and brake like a madman, then this won't make a significant difference unless you cut that out too.
I drive fast, but never accelerate hard, and in my 17-18 year old car, it only costs me 7 cents per kilometre.

I actually find that buying fruit juice is cheaper than squeezing my own.
I save money by walking whenever I can instead of using the car.

A very good way to save money is to ask yourself "Do I really need it, or do I just want it?"
Of course, looking through flyers and comparing prices is helpful, too, but you have to factor in travelling or delivery time & expense. For example, Store A has product B for $5, Store C has the same product for $4, but it'll cost you $2.25 in bus fare to get there and back. Obviously not worth the "savings".

That is exactly what I do and what I have taught my daughter to do. I told her if she has a limited amount of money, the needs always come before the wants. She said she needs her fake nails and I told her no she doesn't, she has nails. lol
She got what I was talking about finally.
