Are men better drivers than women

Are men better at math for a reason? DO they drive better because of the genetic disposition to these things. Why is it so? I see that women who are not good drivers are better at other things but I see so many women out there and they just are getting into more accidents and for some reason not paying attention while they are driving. Sometimes I see someone swerving and I think that they must be drunk and then I get up along side of them and they are talking on a sell phone and sure enough... it is a woman most of the time.

I don't think men are, statistically, better drivers than women because insurance companies give lower rates to women. They wouldn't do that if they got in more accidents. There is a theory that the amount of testosterone a fetus is exposed to in the womb makes different parts of the brain develop differently. Those with a higher dose of testosterone tend to be better at spacial relations, geometery, and related areas. This is true for women, too, but of course, men have more testosterone to begin with so have a natural edge in those areas as a gender, but not necessarly as individuals. AS for the swerving, anyone can drive like an idiot when they are distracted, expecially on cell phones. I think women feel more compelled to answer them when they shouldn't, because they are afraid of hurting someone's feelings by not answering.

I have an instruction permit and I am going to take the behind the wheel test in a month. I have been told a lot that women were not good drivers. I didn't know insurance companies give lower raters rates to women. Thanks for the information.
