On holidays, do you slow cook or fast cook?

Recently owing to shortage of LPG (gas), we cooked our food on kerosene stove, which was very slow and low in heat. We ate on leaf plates owing to shortage of metal plates. My children found the items exceedingly tasty and there was shortage of food. Similar difference is felt in using organically grown vegetables without using chemical fertilisers. We use rugged gourd and bottle gourd regularly. Homegrown gourds tend to be very soft and dissolve in saliva on the tongue.
