Have you made any special efforts to be prepared for possible disasters?

Do you think it's better to be prepared to take care of yourself? Or depend on something/someone else to get you through it?

Yes, I have. I one day kept a bunch of empty milk gallons incase it flooded. I thought I was crazy doing so, till three weeks later a pipe in our basement burst, and I filled them all up and hauled it outdoor before the clean water went stale and saved lots of my books. - DNatureofDTrain
