It is not a change for the traditional Bond movies it is showing how his character was formed. It was his first mission and he had not decided that the way to have a Martini was to have it 'shaken not stirred'. It is a bit strange to me as since it was his first mission it should have been set before the Sean Connery era so should not have mobile phones etc. It did not feel right for a Bond movie but my husband says that is because it does not have the Bond theme music throughout. Did you notice that and agree?

I do agree, and yes, sometimes i just forget that it was his first mission. But some stuff was off storyline too. like how they talked about 911. what happened to the cold war in from russia with love?? are you kidding me? that was one one of the biggest things that got me, is when they threw off the storyline. the shakin not stirred isn't too bad. I just wanted to see if that upset anyone else when it happened. because for me as SOON as it happen, i jumped out of my chair and say WTF???? lol. that's just me though.

I hope you weren't watching it in the cinema then, Oh mighty lord. As your serf I will fetch the soap to wash out your mouth! What would your mother think of such behaviour?

true. considering it was his first mission and things werent going well. i guess the "what would you do?" can come into effect here. i guess with me i am so "traditional" 007 sometimes it upsets me when they change small things like that.

007 series were TOO traditional for far too long. A SERIOUS small change doesn't do harm. BUT I REALLY hope he becomes a little bit more sophisticated in Bond 22, cause that's how James Bond becomes towards the end. I miss the James Bond we came to know. AND I sincerely hope he'd loose the spikey hair do!

lol. Yeah, I understand they wanted an "up to date" bond, but his hair has always been combed. lol. True, as well, on the having a little change. I can deal with that. They did jack up the timeline and THAT was retarded. how do you go from "his first mission" being after 911, but yet "from russia with love" was about the cold war. are you kidding?? lol.

personally, i do not like harsh words to be in use at all. however, since this is a movie which is supposed to show the true colors of the people in the place where this is supposed to be happening i'd rather have an open mind. so, no, i was not shocked at all. i believe that it was a natural part of the entire thing.

I would have preferred if he had said 'stirred'. It should be a criminal offense to shake a martini! The gin becomes cloudy when you shake it.

Well, I thought it was a very clever plot device- you see, I loved this movie because it was a very no-bull Bond. Bond has never looked so bad, or so good. Aside from the defibrillator and the Astin Martin, Bond had no gadgets- I loved that. When this Bond falls, he LANDS. With a THUD. I love that! This film boldly reinvents the Bond formula, and Daniel Craig is the best actor ever to play 007. This Bond is the greenest of them all, and we get to track his evolution from the ground up. We witness his first two kills. We witness his first big mission. We witness him almost die several times! Bond has never been so green- he doesn't know how to use his gadgets, he doesn't know the cheesy one-liners, he doesn't know how to order his famous martinis, and he doesn't know not to fall in love. I thought this was one of the best Bonds ever! Many happy returns, Daniel Craig.

Oh, no doubt I enjoyed this movie, and Daniel Craig did do a great job with it. I just personally didn't like how they made him different. I do agree that it gives an adrinaline rush. I enjoyed the story even though they messed up the story line, and in my opinion, Shaun Connery is the best 007 and always will be. Yet, I am a fan of the old school, so my opinion is going to be "different". Good point, non the less.

I laughed my butt off! It was perfect! He said it just right too. And, I was so glad that this James Bond didn't follow in the too well beaten path of his practically elderly forefathers (meaning the other james bond imposters.) Finally a fresh face, fresh plot points and a brand new attitude. Long live the one true James Bond!
