I know that the first time my spouse and I saw each other face to face, was the day he arrived at my house. We met each other in an online chatroom (and yes those things DO work LOL)and we had decided that he would be moving to Winchester VA where I lived. He left Ozark, AR on August 28 1999 at 2:45pm and arrived in Winchester VA at 9am on August 29 1999. We knew from that first moment that we were meant to be together. We married a month later on September 29 1999. However, our first REAL date (going out with no children) occured the week after he moved in. We left the kids with a sitter and went out to eat at Cracker Barrel in Winchester (and we still go to that same resteraunt to this day--we had our first date there and we also had lunch there the day we got married) and then went for a drive across Skyline Drive. It was so romantic to see the stars and the clear sky from the moutains. We picked a nice spot to pull off on and just took in all the beautiful stars and scenery...
So tell me...what was your first date with your spouse like?

Well, I was in the Air Force and I had heard about the man I am married to today while I was in Florida. I got orders to go to Incirlik AFB, Turkey and my room mates mom and dad were over there. When my room mate told her parents that I would be going there they told her to tell me to watch out for Tobie Castle that he was a wild man. When I got over there her parents took me out to lunch and once again commented on this guy, Tobie. Told me to watch him that he liked to party a lot and loved the gals. Well, they were leaving to come back to the states and told me not to get involved with the guy. I started to date this guy Mike whom I found out later was his room mate and we dated for awhile. He and I were coming across the BX exchange parking lot and this car pulled up and stopped. The window rolled down and I was introduced to Tobie Castle. I commented to him that I had heard about him over in Florida. Mike and I dated for a couple of more weeks and then Tobie called me one night at the barracks one evening and asked me if I was busy. I said no and we got together that night and we became a item. We went together for quite some time and then he popped the question. We were married and now it is 33 years later.

How wonderful that it worked out. Isn't it something how those 'bad boys' turn out to not be so bad? Congrads on 33 years with hopes of many more to come. Thanks for responding...I gave you a +

I would have to say that the first date with my spouse was quite the fun evening. I had a really enjoyable time with my other half the first night I ever spent time with him. I was so nervous I felt like I literally had a bunch of butterflies in my stomach. I had never had conversations with anyone like I had with him prior to us going out. I was wondering just how comfortable we would end up being with each other. We actually met online as well years ago just like you & your spouse..
I remember we had agreed to go see a movie and go to dinner for our first date. We had both expressed an interest in a movie out at the time.. We were both interested in seeing it since we had first seen the commercials and started talking about it together. I was so excited to just be meeting him in the first place because we had such a long online relationship. He helped me through some really hard situations by just being there and offering me a shoulder to lean on. I really appreciated everything he had done for me up until then. I wanted to meet him because he had such a great impact on my life by being a really good friend to me through some really tough times.
We met at the theatre and I actually think he showed up before me. I saw him the minute I got out of the cab and we both approached each other. We could both see just how nervous we were but it seemed that once we go to talking , the butterflies just disappeared. It was almost like I had known him for years before we met. In reality we had talked on the internet for almost a year & a half or two years or so before we decided to meet for the first time. There was one point where we were sitting down before the movie began and we were just talking. That was where I felt we had a connection that was amazing because we were talking non stop until that movie began.
I noticed that all the time during the movie he kept looking over at me. I thought it was sweet and kind of funny how he would try to make it look like he didn't give me a glance. Anyways, after the movie was done we went into the city he used to live in for dinner. We had a pretty good time there but I was pretty sure my other half was disappointed in his meal. We walked from that restaurant to his old house and spent the better part of the rest of the night just talking. It was basically a night of getting to know each other and we certainly did a lot of that.
There were so many good vibes that night and I really think that it went so well because we waited such a long time before meeting. I believe in the long run it was a good idea that we waited as long as we did and it paid off because we've been in a relationship ever since. It was ultimately a great night and it led to more great nights from there.
The restaurant we went for dinner at.. We actually still go to these days.. I love stepping foot in this restaurant as it brings back memories of the time we had met face to face for the very first time.. A smile seems to appear on my face each time I think of this moment I had spent with him.. I am glad that we are still going to this restaurant to this very day.. I feel it's an environment that brings back a lot of memories for the both of us..
In conclusion, that was in essence my first date with my spouse. I think it is amazing that we have made it all this way through all the obstacles we've had to face along the way. I love him with all my heart and I think that we can continue to reach for our dreams as long as we support each other all along the way! . .
Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

when I went to a school, for some project of cheif, behind me an angel stood. Both turned around our sight are mingled face to face that moment we were made for each other. Still she is working as a teacher, when the time available to pick up from her school, waiting for her that wonder moment streams flow in my heart.

well i came home from work at midnight to find this guy sitting up talking to my mom and kinda brother, they both asked me if i would take them to a strip club across state lines. ::laughs:: we do not have any close to us. So of course i said yes they went and saw their naked women and on the way home we got stuck in traffic and my husband kept tickling me and so i bit him on the hand. he still kept tickling me. and that made history.

My husband and I met through a mutual friend. One day a friend of mine, and the mutual friend came over to borrow an extension cord. I was online and had just seen a message from my now husband in my inbox and he'd explained that he knew the mutual friend. Well since the mutual friend was there I asked him about it and he said that he was a nice guy and that he'd talked to him about me. Well we started talking online and I'd say it was nearly a month until we were able to meet.
We met at a wal*mart not far from my grandparents house, which is where I was living at the time. I waited nearly an hour I'd say and texted him that if he was going to stand me up the least he could have done was told me before I went to the trouble of going to wal*mart, I was hurt. Well I tried calling him to and there was a weird noise and no answer.
He texted me back and told me to please not leave, that he was held up by a friend who was supposed to come pick up a car he was selling, well I waited and he eventually came. The friend had tagged along, though my husband didn't really want him to. All in all though it was a great first meeting / date. We walked around wal*mart, and then went to the bowling alley close by. He was ever the nervous gentlemen, shaking my hand, and rushing out (I could tell he was nervous). Then we started talking more online, and a week later we were bf/gf.
At that time I worked a lot, and so we hardly got to see each other, when we did I was so tired, and he was too from staying up all night (as he liked to stay up at night) so our dates consisted of us sleeping most of the time!
.
I quit that job for him so I could spend more time with him, I ended up moving in with him and his parents, and then we got married a few years later, he proposed to me for the first time only a few months after we met! (I say the first time because while we never split up, he did propose marriage to me thrice, each time me saying yes, each time more romantic then the last).

I was living in the suit down stairs from my husband with a room mate that wanted to date me. My husband and I worked days and my room mate nights so we started hanging out as we were both new to the city. One night he showed up and said get changed (I was just home from work and smelt like asphalt, I was paving that day). He took me to a little Italian restaurant over looking the ocean. After we walked on the beach until almost midnight. My room mate kept calling me on my cell phone and paging him on his pager. When I got home my room mate had packed my stuff and told me to get out if I was going to cheat on him, I laughed as we where never dating. I moved in with my husband that night.
