How old were you when you found out Santa Clause wasn't real?  |

|  It's a stupid question and most of you probably don't celebrate Christmas. But for those of you who does and were brought up and introduced to Santa...How did you find out he wasn't real?
Me? I was around 10. I actually don't remember how I found out. No, there weren't disappointments. I guess I just kinda knew...when my bright shiny bike wasn't under our tree.:) I guess I just grew out of it. But that was a fun time. I remember I always wrote him letters and then around midnight my brothers would hand me my present saying it's from Santa and I'd ask where he was and they said he just left.:) God, I was gullible!

| |  I guess I was somewhere in the 9-10 year range when I figured out that Santa wasn't a real person (catching your mother putting presents under the tree doesn't help in believeing LOL) although I feel that the spirit of Santa lives on in all of us :-)

| |  I suppose I was about 8 or 9 and like you, I just kinda grew out of it. There wasn't some evil older kid waiting to burst my bubble.
When I was about 12 there was a lovely Irish lady who lived next door and she asked us kids what Santa was bringing us for Christmas. She was dead serious. We all sort of smirked in that know all way kids have but it turned out she believed in Santa till she was 16 and no one had the heart to tell her!
Now if only it was true....

| | I know what you mean, I let my nephews and nieces believe in him too. I told them to write their letters to Santa Clause and told them to ask for two things, that way if I can't afford one I'll just buy the other. :) It was fun and it's nice to see their faces when they open their presents. *sigh* the innocence of childhood. | | | |
